New date, same strong results: Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics remains the industry’s leading business platform
Taking place in September for the first time, the earlier date of the 2018 Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics was well received by both exhibitors and buyers. Strong business results and visitor flow, following on from recent editions, once again proved the fair’s leading position in the industry as an effective sourcing platform. In total, around 78,000 trade buyers from some 110 countries and regions visited the fair, (2017: 77,883, 102 countries and regions), sourcing from 4,480 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions (2017: 4,538, 32 countries and regions).

Green is the new black: fringe programme to shine a light on sustainable exhibitors at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics
When a large fashion house’s carbon consumption levels hit global headlines earlier this year, it was evident that people want to see more action taken to achieve sustainability. Eco-friendly, environmentally-friendly, ethical – these buzzwords are backed up by market demand for greener goods. For more than 70,000 visitors, this month’s fringe programme at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition will be a worthwhile visit, as worldwide industry experts join the conversation of sustainability and other pressing issues at the fair’s seminars, panel discussions and trend forums.
Discover influential trends from the Asia-Pacific region at Intertextile Apparel
While New York, Milan, Paris and London have traditionally been seen as the most prominent fashion capitals in the world, apparel brands and consumers are increasingly turning to Asian trends. Although Tokyo has long been known for stand-out street style, it’s only recently that the “Seoul effect” – a rise of South Korean popular culture, such as K-pop – has led to even more globally influential trends from the Asia-Pacific region. Visitors at this month’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics are encouraged to check out country & region pavilions from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Thailand in hall 5.1, in addition to pavilions from India and Pakistan in hall 4.1, and two Taiwan Pavilions in halls 4.1 and 5.1.
Intertextile Apparel to meet industry-wide demand with 4,000-plus suppliers
Rarely does the entire textile apparel industry gather in one place, but from 27 – 29 September at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition, the industry will do just that. It’s no secret that the fair has established its place as a leading textile sourcing platform, partly due to its wide range of products on offer from over 4,000 suppliers from 33 countries & regions. The arrangement of the halls, with products grouped together and highlighted in special zones, will aim to maximise business contact points, whilst also ensuring efficiency to save buyers’ time.
