Intertextile’s Functional Lab options offer high performance with low impact
Major activewear and outdoor brands, such as adidas, Columbia Sportswear, Nike, Patagonia and more, have all been releasing news with a significant theme: what’s new in their environmental efforts. Meanwhile, social media has proved successful for smaller brands offering products such as recycled activewear and shoes. For consumers with a highly active outdoor lifestyle, it stands to reason that they seek products with maximum functionality and minimal environmental impact. From 25 – 27 September, stand-out fabrics suitable for sportswear, swimwear and lingerie can be sourced from Functional Lab, at the 25th Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics.
Eco-conscious Intertextile Directions trends for Autumn / Winter 2020-21
While this year’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics celebrates 25 years of history, the fair also looks to the future for the next trend forecast. From 25 – 27 September, trade buyers can visit the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum for Autumn / Winter 2020-21 inspiration. The season’s trend theme is HUMAN ≒ TECH, with four trends: SENSE-ABILITY, ELECTRO-TONIC, KNOW-HOW and RE-MAKE. The theme reflects on today’s transformative era. It considers ways to rediscover a sense of self, whilst also connecting to the future.
Intertextile Apparel marks a milestone: 25 years of serving the industry
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will return from 25 – 27 September at the National Exhibition & Convention Center (Shanghai). This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Autumn Edition, and 2019 has already proven to be an exciting year for Intertextile. In March, the Spring Edition experienced yet another 15% increase in visitor numbers and strong positive feedback from exhibitors. Despite global trade concerns, this fair proves itself time and time again as the ideal place to make valuable connections and capture new potential in the market.
New date, same strong results: Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics remains the industry’s leading business platform
Taking place in September for the first time, the earlier date of the 2018 Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics was well received by both exhibitors and buyers. Strong business results and visitor flow, following on from recent editions, once again proved the fair’s leading position in the industry as an effective sourcing platform. In total, around 78,000 trade buyers from some 110 countries and regions visited the fair, (2017: 77,883, 102 countries and regions), sourcing from 4,480 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions (2017: 4,538, 32 countries and regions).
Tomorrow’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics lines up 4,400-plus exhibitors, offering unparalleled sourcing for the season
4,479 exhibitors from 33 countries & regions are unpacking their latest products at this week’s Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition. High visitor footfall is anticipated at the industry’s leading trade fair, which has an earlier date this year. Running from 27 – 29 September, the change of date has been well received by exhibitors looking to take advantage of the earlier Autumn / Winter sourcing season.
Exhibitors connect with hundreds of Chinese fashion brands at Intertextile Shanghai & Shenzhen’s Japan Pavilions
“Made in Japan” is a popular selling point across many consumer goods categories in China – cosmetics, stationery and homeware to name a few – and this demand also extends to the apparel textile industry. The Japan Pavilion is now well established at both Intertextile Pavilion Shenzhen – the next edition of which takes place from 4 to 6 July – and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, and continues to draw large crowds at every edition of both fairs. This prompts a key question: every textile producing country has its specialties, but what can be learnt from the phenomenal success of Japanese exhibitors at Intertextile?
